I am currently a director on the Corporate Nature board representing Northern Gulf Resource Management Group where I have held the office of Conservation Director since November 2014. I am the Secretary of Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC), an organisation I joined in 1997. I have a science degree from James Cook University in Townsville, graduating with a first class Honours in Botany. I moved to the JCU Cairns campus in 1996, and with three other lecturers, established the School of Tropical Biology. During this time I undertook a higher research degree studying rainforest plants in the Daintree lowlands. My day job is at the Wet Tropics Management Authority, working on vegetation mapping, threatened species, climate change, heritage conservation issues and building research partnerships with other organisations.
