I have experience as a finance officer working for Not-For-Profit organisations, as well as current proficiencies in roles ranging from Bookkeeper to Practice Manager. Most of my working life I was employed as Finance/ Payroll Officer for the Far North Qld Rural Division of General Practice Assn Inc. The FNQRDGP was an Australian government funded not for profit organisation originally based in Malanda. Our focus was on providing allied health services to the community through our network of general practitioners’ from Thursday Island to Babinda. During my time there I saw the association grow from a small team of professionals in management, finance, IT and allied health, to over seventy staff and the necessity of moving the base of operations to Cairns. After a change in government we operated as the updated entity FNQ Medicare Local, our team oversaw numerous programs aimed at improving the primary health outcomes of our community and the implementation of the Headspace Program, a project still running successfully today. My role was to assist the associations’ financial manager in the daily processing of accounts and payroll according to policy and procedures for compliance with accounting standards and in line with our grant funding guidelines, I also participated in assisting accountants during our annual financial audits. I am passionate about community spirit found in the not for profit sector and am excited to be part of the Corporate Nature team supporting the NRM teams implementing programs to ensure the sustained management of our natural resources and ensuring our children can enjoy our natural heritage for generations to come.
